On July 9, 2024, President Biden declared that a major disaster exists in the State of Texas, and ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Beryl that began on July 5, 2024.

Revenue Procedure 2014-49 provides relief to Housing Tax Credit (HTC) properties impacted by presidentially declared disasters from carryover through the compliance period. The Revenue procedure is on TDHCA’s website at https://www.tdhca.texas.gov/compliance-presidentially-declared-disaster-information-htc-properties-during-compliance-period.

If your property is in service and has been damaged by this disaster, please inform TDHCA within 30 days of the disaster through the use of the “Notice of Property Damage from Texas Hurricane Beryl (DR-4798-TX)” form, which is available at https://www.tdhca.texas.gov/compliance-general-casualty-loss-information-htc-properties-during-compliance-period. The form should be uploaded to the property’s CMTS account to the attention of Benjamin Barker.

At this time, emergency housing for displaced individuals is not available because the major disaster areas have not been designated for Individual Assistance by FEMA.

We continue to urge all owners to update their Unit Status Report to ensure accurate and reliable information is reflected in the housing inventory list located on TDHCA’s website at https://hrc-ic.tdhca.state.tx.us/hrc/VacancyClearinghouseSearch.
