The Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to recognize high school seniors and technical school or college students who actively reside in affordable housing properties owned by a TAAHP member and have pursued academic or technical excellence. These awards are intended to provide financial assistance to student residents attaining their educational and career goals. Scholarships are funded by TAAHP affiliated fundraising events and its membership.

Applications can be submitted online or printed and mailed.
Applications for 2021 Scholarships will be accepted through May 31, 2021.

Be a resident of an affordable housing complex that is owned or operated by a TAAHP Member. (Confirmation of applicant’s residency and the property’s eligibility will be confirmed by TAAHP); and
- Have a family income which is less than 80% of median income in the area in which they reside; and
- Have a high school cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and attend a technical school or college/university (applicants must provide evidence of an acceptance letter); or
- Hold a GED and will attend a technical school or college/university (applicants must provide evidence of an acceptance letter); or
- Be an existing student of a technical school or college/university with a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (applicants must provide evidence of current enrollment and current GPA).

All eligibility and application requirements must be met in order for an application to be considered for scholarship awards. If mailing, all completed application packages must be postmarked by May 31, 2021.

High School Students:
Include an official high school transcript with cumulative GPA, including all grades for all classes up to and including the first semester of your senior academic year. If submitting online, upload your transcript as an attachment. If mailing a paper application, include a copy with the rest of your application materials.
Technical School/College Students:
Include an official technical school or college/university transcript. If submitting online, upload your transcript as an attachment. If mailing a paper application, include a copy with the rest of your application materials.
These items are required for this scholarship application to be considered complete. Applications received without an official transcript will not be considered for scholarship awards.
Letters of Recommendation:
Submit 2 signed letters of recommendation from someone familiar with your character, service, and achievements (high school teacher, counselor, administrator, principal, coach, community member, professor, academic advisor, etc.) Note: Letters of recommendation must be written and signed by the recommender and cannot be a relative of the applicant.
Describe your most meaningful achievements and how this scholarship will help you accomplish your goals. Essays must be typed and include a minimum of 250 words and must not exceed 1,000 words. Please upload your essay as a separate document and place your initials and date of birth on each page of the essay.
