The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Asset Management division seeks to remind Owners and Agents that the deadline to submit the Cost Certification package for 9% Competitive Housing Tax Credit Developments with a Credit Period starting in 2025 is January 15, 2026.
The deadline to submit the Cost Certification package for the 4% Housing Tax Credit Developments is May 15 of the year following the first year of the Credit Period. 4% Housing Tax Credit Developments with a Credit Period beginning in 2025 must submit the Cost Certification package by May 15, 2026.
If the cost certification submission deadline cannot be met, an extension may be requested. The extension request letter must explain the reason an extension is needed, identify the revised submission deadline date requested, and if applicable, include a copy of the extension fee check. Extension requests submitted at least 30 calendar days in advance of the original deadline will not be required to submit an extension fee.
