The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Compliance staff will host a virtual training on Housing Tax Credit developments and how they operate after the Federal Compliance Period is completed. The virtual training will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Austin local time, on Thursday, March 24, 2022.
This training will focus on the monitoring and inspection requirements for developments that have completed the first 15 years of their affordability period. All affordable housing property owners, management personnel, and on-site staff that operate a development that has completed, or is nearing completion of, its Federal Compliance Period are encouraged to attend. The course is taught by TDHCA compliance staff and will cover 10 TAC Section 10.623 Monitoring Procedures for Housing Tax Credit Properties after the Compliance Period.
The training will draw to attention to the following:
– Changes to monitoring and inspections that will occur once a property has completed the Federal Compliance Period
– Information in the Land Use Restriction Agreement (LURA) regarding requirements after the Compliance Period, complete timeframe of the Compliance Period and requirements for the full term of the LURA
– Explanations about the term of the property after the initial 15-year Compliance Period
