The San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) is breaking ground this summer on a 200-unit affordable housing community in downtown San Antonio — a rare opportunity. While SAHA has owned the land since 1994, it was previously used as a storage site. The $22 million construction project will result in all 200 apartment homes offered at below-market rent available to residents earning between 30 percent and 80 percent of the area’s median income (AMI).
SAHA believes the apartment units will be a welcome relief to hospitality and tourism workers in the area — allowing them to be able to find housing that fits their budget close to where they work.
