HUD Releases FAQ Document Concerning Implementation of HOTMA Provisions

HUD’s Office of Multifamily Programs has released an FAQ document to clarify the implementation of the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA) provisions, which will take effect in most states on January 1, 2025. The document provides guidance on phase-in hardship relief, tenant selection plans, and the use of the rent override function in Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS) 202D until the new HOTMA-compliant version is available by July 1, 2025.
