Brinshore Development, LLC. (Brinshore) is excited to announce a new addition to its Texas team. Emily Abeln joins Brinshore’s Texas office in Houston to direct the development process including pre-development, design, financing, public policy, entitlement and permitting, and community outreach. She is also taking the lead on Brinshore’s existing Texas multi-family projects under development. Additionally, she will manage future development opportunities in the region as well as establish a permanent presence for the company in Houston.
Abeln comes to Brinshore with seventeen years of nonprofit real estate experience, ranging from property management to federal compliance oversight to development. She spent the last ten years as Vice President of Real Estate and Corporate Secretary for New Hope Housing, Inc. In her development role she conducted and directed New Hope Housing’s real estate activities. Abeln was also responsible for community engagement as well as helping to shape public policy for the benefit of under-served Texans.
“This is an incredible opportunity for me to work with a talented mission-minded national organization,” Abeln said.
“Richard Sciortino and David Brint have fostered a corporate culture of team camaraderie and service to the community. I’m honored they have asked me to lead the Texas market and look forward to expanding our impact in communities in Texas and throughout the Gulf Coast.”
“Emily’s local development expertise combined with her passion for serving the community will position Brinshore for success today and in the decades to come,” said David Brint, Principal. “We’re excited to have her join us and help serve Texans in need of quality, affordable housing.”
Emily begins her role as Senior Vice President of Development in May 2022.
