The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released 2020 Fair Market Rents (FMRs), which will be effective Tuesday, October 1, 2019. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Subrecipients must ensure they use the most updated FMRs released by HUD. For those ESG Subrecipients in places with Small Area FMRs, please use the FMR information for other programs; Small Area FMRs cannot be used for ESG.

ESG program participants receiving assistance through Rapid Rehousing or Homelessness Prevention must live in units that are at or below fair market rents and meet the rent reasonableness requirements.
