The City of Austin conducted its annual community survey. The survey found that 68 percent of Austin residents believe more affordable housing is needed. The need for more affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families was listed as one of the top five priorities for opportunities for improvement listed by those who responded to the survey. Almost 50 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied with their ability to access quality housing that they could afford. Survey respondents listed “access to quality housing that they could afford” as the second top priority that was most important for the City of Austin to provide.
