During the last December board meeting, the TDHCA Governing Board approved the proposed amendments to the Compliance Rule, 10 TAC, Chapter 10, Subchapter F and to the 10 TAC Subchapter G, Affirmative Marketing Requirements and Written Policies and Procedures. Both rules were published in the Texas Register and open for public comment. TAAHP’s Compliance & Post Award Committee convened a committee meeting to discuss and determine TAAHP’s response to the proposed changes. In addition to the current committee members, to gain better, more robust opinions and input, the committee chairs opened the meeting to industry representatives who have experience or currently work in the affordable housing property management sector. With over 30 participating, the committee was able to garner a wide array of responses on how the proposed amendments will affect the industry. With this feedback, TAAHP submitted public comment letters to the proposed rule changes, see our letters below.

Additionally, the committee discussed the proposed amendments to the 10 TAC, Chapter 1, Subchapter C, Previous Participation and Executive Award Review Advisory Committee. The public comment period for these rules is open until March 2, 2020. The committee is currently drafting the public comment letter and will send to TDHCA as well as to the TAAHP membership in the coming weeks.
