Lauren M. Marcus is a senior associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Tiber Hudson LLC, where her practice is focused on public finance for affordable housing transactions. She represents institutional lenders, bond underwriters, developers, and municipal issuers in a wide range of tax-exempt and taxable housing financings around the country, including public offerings of bonds credit-enhanced by FHA, USDA, Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Lauren advises her clients on the structuring and federal income tax aspects of tax-exempt debt transactions, regularly engages with national credit rating agencies, and prepares cashflow projections and a variety of calculations required under the tax-exempt bond rules. Lauren is frequently a featured speaker at industry conferences and roundtables including, NH&RA and the American Bar Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Lauren was a Legal Fellow and Attorney Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel at the District of Columbia Housing Authority. While at the Housing Authority, Lauren focused on policy and transactional matters, including the drafting and implementation of the Housing Authority’s Rental Assistance Demonstration program.
Lauren graduated from the University of Maryland in 2013, where she received a B.A. in Communications. She earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2016, where she was a student law clerk for the Honorable Laura Cordero of the D.C. Superior Court and a student attorney and advocate in the GW Law Domestic Violence Clinic. Lauren is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the National Bar Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

Alex is a Vice President in KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Public Finance Investment Banking Group in Cleveland, Ohio. Alex has focused on affordable housing bond underwriting since joining the group in 2017 and has closed over 80 sole or senior managed affordable housing transactions, primarily focusing on LIHTC and Workforce solutions.
Alex graduated from Bates College with honors in May 2017 with a degree in Economics and was the two-time captain of the Varsity Golf Team.

Erika Piggee has been with Berkadia since December 2020. Currently, Erika serves as a Senior Underwriter in Affordable Housing. Since joining Berkadia, Erika has closed over $479 million in affordable housing transactions, including Fannie Mae MTEB and Freddie Mac TEL transactions. Erika has over 12 years’ experience in commercial real estate finance across underwriting, servicing, and asset management. In 2014, Erika completed her Master of Business Administration with a focus in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas. Erika received her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Erika completed internship programs in New York City at CWCapital Investments and the former Bear Stearns & Co. In addition to her career, Erika loves spending time with her family – her husband, Rico, and daughters (Gianna and Ava). Erika is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Justin Gregory, Pivotal

Mr. Gregory is a financial analyst for Pivotal, formerly MVAH Partners. A graduate of the University of Dayton, Justin is responsible for the underwriting and day-to- day management of lender and investor relations for developments in Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina. Mr. Gregory has underwritten and assisted in the development of approximately 3,500 tax credit units.

Sarah Scott, Coats Rose

Sarah is an Of Counsel attorney in the Affordable Housing and Community Development practice group in the Austin office. Sarah represents non-profit and for-profit developers, public housing authorities, bond issuers, and other entities in transactions for the development of low income housing. Sarah has experience with a variety of financing sources and structures, including the use of 4% and 9% low income housing tax credits, CDBG funds, HOME funds, TCAP funds, conventional construction and permanent financing loans, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans, mixed-finance, private activity bonds, local government grants and loans, and RAD rental assistance.
Prior to joining the firm, Sarah completed a fellowship with the Texas Facilities Commission, where she worked on real estate matters including right-of-way vacation, easement and lease agreements, and the agency’s Public-Private Partnership Guidelines. During law school, Sarah served as a clerk for The University of Texas Legal Services For Students, where she researched and evaluated landlord-tenant claims, and drafted demand letters. She also interned for Judge Barbara Hervey at the Criminal Court of Appeals in Austin, Texas and for Judge Brent Carr of Tarrant County.
