Jim Brown, Executive Director
Mr. Brown became the second Executive Director of the fifteen your old Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers (TAAHP) in May 2006. The Board of Directors and Mr. Brown have enhanced the purpose of TAAHP while continuing to meet its mission statement: Increasing the inventory of quality and affordable housing for Texans with limited incomes and special needs. The implementation of the Executive Management Series, expanding the Texas Housing Conference into an educational and trade show complex TAAHP is now serving participants from 26 states from east to west coasts. TAAHP is a 501 (c)(6) not or profit trade association serving the affordable housing industry in general and doing business in the State of Texas. His executive career spans across local, county, Texas irrigation and hydro-electric district, Texas river authority, to private sector environmental engineering and planning and upscale land development communities.
His community development leadership ranges from the acquisition, clearance and redevelopment of lands for the expansion of Texas State University-San Marcos, the Agnes Disaster Recovery projects along the Susquehanna River Corridor, State of Pennsylvania, the City of Eagle Pass, Texas, River Place on Lake Austin, Austin Texas area, the Boardwalk Multiuse Project, Round Rock, Texas, the Mokan Development Corporation, predecessor to the Texas Toll Road 130 Project in Williamson, Travis, Caldwell Counties, and several projects in the Republic of Mexico.
Mr. Brown was graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos in 1961 receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. His personal vita includes elected to a public office for three consecutive terms, Worthy Grand Master (International President) 200,000 member Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Texas State Alumni Association Board of Directors and President 2011, recognized as a Texas State University-San Marcos Distinguished Alumnus 2003 and other civic and social association boards of director. He resides in Kerrville and Austin, Texas where he directs the day to day operations of TAAHP, the Texas Housing Conference, TAAHP’s legislative and public policy activities and is involved in several civic and community service organizations.
Jesus Azanza, Director of Member Services
Originally from Northern California, Jesus Azanza moved to Austin, Texas in 2005 and worked for TAAHP as an intern during the fall 2007 semester. Jesus graduated from Texas State University – San Marcos in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. As the Director of Member Services he is responsible for maintaining effective and professional relationships with the membership and acts as a liaison between the Association, membership, and various programs offered.
Nancy Hardin, Administrative Assistant
Nancy is a native Austinite and retired from 32 years in State government. She graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences. Nancy provides support to the Executive Director and the Director of Member Services as needed for efficient and effective administration of TAAHP business
